Richard E. Joseph, Attorney
Dick Joseph is an attorney who founded the firm of Joseph, Corcoran and Telgenhof. Dick has been a real estate and corporate attorney for over twenty-two years. He is experienced in all facets of real estate law, business transactions, estate planning and probate administration. Currently Mr. Joseph is the managing partner of Charlevoix Abstract & Title and serves as in-house counsel. Mr. Joseph is able to provide clients with answers to any title issues including zoning, easements, divorce and dower rights, condominium issues for both the developer and the association with just a phone call. Generally all legal issues are resolved without charge or billed at an extremely low hourly rate.

Grant L. Elowsky, Chief Title Examiner
Grant Elowsky is the former owner of Metropolitan Title Company. Grant specializes in comprehensive title searches. He provides Charlevoix Abstract with the ability to perform title searches over a broad, multi-county area, including Charlevoix, Emmet, Antrim, Kalkaska, Otsego & Crawford Counties. Grant provides Charlevoix Abstract with a regional presence covering all of Northwest lower Michigan.

Lynette Webb, Vice President and Senior Escrow Officer
Lynette Webb is the senior escrow closing agent and has over thirty-eight years experience in the title industry. She currently is the general manager of the Title Agency. Lynette has been a licensed agent in the industry for over thirty-eight years with experience in every phase of real estate title, including research, examining, and escrow closings. Lynette offers prompt and courteous service and is willing to conduct closings in any of the local real estate offices, banks or other convenient locations as may be requested.

Charlevoix Abstract & Title Agency, a subsidiary of Lake Charlevoix Title Agency, Inc., has been in business for several years. We are conveniently located at 203 Mason Street, directly across the street from the Court House in downtown Charlevoix. We offer a full range of title and real estate services, both commercial and residential. Additionally, an experienced real estate attorney, Richard E. Joseph, manages the company and provides a wide array of legal services. Charlevoix Abstract is extremely experienced in oil and gas title searches and leases.

Charlevoix Abstract offers a full range of title and real estate services including title policies, closing and escrow services, 1031 property exchanges, master policies and drafting of condominium documents, including establishing a developer protection entity, and new construction. We also assist private sellers in selling their property by owner, commonly referred to as a “FSBO” transaction. This is an ever-increasingly popular method to sell property as a result of tightening loan restrictions.

The Title Agency offers a full range of real estate legal services, including land contracts, which are becoming an extremely popular way to sell residential property in today’s difficult lending market. We prepare easements and other real estate documents, estate planning documents and probate administration, purchase agreements, contracts, leases and other business documents.

The company principle owners are Dick Joseph, Grant Elowsky and Lynette Webb, all of whom have been involved in the title industry for many years.

The Company’s philosophy is that the client always comes first. We believe that since the seller or mortgagee is providing the title insurance, it should be up to them to determine the title agency they would like to handle their transaction. As a result, we offer low fees and prompt and courteous service.
